Coronation Street has seen yet another young character recast for the fifth time, with fans likely to recognise the latest actor stepping into the shoes of Harry Platt, Sarah’s son.

Following Lucy Fallon’s return to the cobbles as Bethany Platt, her little brother Harry is also back on our screens, but previous actor Carter-J Murphy is notably absent.

Harry’s character has been portrayed by seven actors to date – initially as a baby by Woody Illsley and twins Pixie and Presley Sellars. The role was then taken over by Freddie and Isaac Rhodes from 2017 until 2024, when Carter-J took on the part.

However, the baton has now been passed to Joshua Leavy, who made his debut on Monday (October 20).

Interestingly, Joshua shares a connection with his on-screen mum Sarah, played by Tina O’Brien – they both attended the same acting school. An insider told The Sun: “He’s already been filming on set for a few months. He went to Tina O’Brien’s acting school so he already knows her.”

Joshua isn’t new to the Corrie scene, having previously played Finn Chambers – the son of Sarah’s friend Lydia – in 2021. He’s also had a stint on rival Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, reports the Express.

This isn’t the first recasting of 2025, as Lily Platt – daughter of David and Shona – was also replaced after nine years in July.

Brooke Malonie had held the role since 2016, but now Lily is portrayed by Grace Ashcroft-Gardner as she tackles more challenging storylines.

Footballer James Bailey underwent a casting change earlier this year. Initially portrayed by Nathan Graham, the role of James has now been passed on to Jason Callender for his return to the cobbles.
