Nathan Rourke, Most Outstanding Player: The British Columbia quarterback’s 91.0 overall grade was the highest among all players, mainly driven by his 70-yard touchdown scramble.
Big game from Calgary RB Dedrick Mills: The back forced a league-high eight missed tackles and gained an impressive 177 total yards on just 16 offensive touches.
With one week remaining in the CFL regular season, the playoff teams are set. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, B.C. Lions and Calgary Stampeders all won last week to keep their hopes of hosting a playoff game in the West Division alive, while the Montreal Alouettes did the same in the East and still have a chance at a first-round bye.
As always, we’re recognizing the league’s top performers from last week in this edition of the CFL Team of the Week.
The Blue Bombers, despite a narrow 17-16 win, led the way with seven players selected. The Stampeders ranked second with six, while the last-place Ottawa Redblacks didn’t have a player named to this week’s team.

QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK: QB NATHAN ROURKE, BRITISH COLUMBIA
Rourke’s performance last week may have locked up the Most Outstanding Player award. He completed 65.6% of his passes for 338 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The quarterback continued to thrive throwing downfield, with a 12.5-yard average depth of target and a league-high 65.6% of his passes thrown beyond the sticks. His three big-time throws helped offset his two turnover-worthy plays.
Then came his potential MOP signature moment — a scramble in which he broke a tackle and raced 70 yards for a touchdown. It’s no surprise Rourke finished with a league-best 91.0 overall grade for the week.
Rourke ranks second among quarterbacks in passing grade (87.5) and also ranks second among all offensive players in rushing grade (92.3). His overall grade of 91.9 is the highest in the CFL.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RB DEDRICK MILLS, CALGARY
In a game against a Toronto Argonauts team with nothing to play for, Mills took advantage and delivered his best performance of the 2025 season. The running back carried the ball 14 times for 115 yards and one touchdown. He picked up eight first downs and had six explosive runs of 10-plus yards. Mills gained 63 yards after first contact and forced a league-high eight missed tackles. He also added two explosive receptions for 62 yards, forcing another missed tackle. In the end, he finished with a rushing grade of 85.6 and a receiving grade of 73.1, good for an 87.7 offensive grade that led all non-quarterbacks.
On the season, Mills leads all running backs with 831 yards after first contact and ranks second with 45 missed tackles forced. His 89.4 rushing grade ranks second in the league.
OFFENSIVE LINE OF THE WEEK: WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers needed a win last week to keep their hopes of avoiding the East Division crossover alive, and their offensive line delivered. The unit played outstanding football, leading a rushing attack that gained more than 100 yards and posting a league-high 79.8 run-blocking grade. In pass protection, they allowed eight pressures on 35 pass snaps but just one sack and no hits. Their 70.4 pass-blocking grade ranked third in the league, while their 74.6 overall grade led all CFL teams.
The Bombers were led by the ageless Stanley Bryant, who allowed just one pressure from his left tackle spot and topped the league with a 74.7 overall grade.
PASS RUSHER OF THE WEEK: ED LEVI BELL, BRITISH COLUMBIA
Bell made his CFL debut just seven weeks ago and seems to be adjusting to the Canadian game just fine. The edge defender had his best game of the season as a pass-rusher, recording a sack, a hit and three hurries. He also added four more pass-rush wins. Bell finished second among qualified defenders with a 26.7% pass-rush win rate and earned a pass-rush grade of 83.7.
Since his debut in Week 14, Bell’s 20 total pressures are the fifth most in the CFL. He appears to be rounding into a reliable option for the Lions heading into the playoffs.
RUN DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: LB JOEL DUBLANKO, EDMONTON
While Edmonton struggled to contain quarterback Nathan Rourke as a runner in last weekend’s loss, the Elks did manage to limit running back James Butler. The CFL’s second-leading rusher needed 15 carries to gain 82 yards and broke only two tackles. Edmonton has sophomore linebacker Dublanko to thank for that. The former No. 1 overall draft pick made nine total tackles on 20 run-defense snaps, including a league-high three solo stops and one tackle for no gain. Dublanko earned a 78.9 run-defense grade that ranked second among all defensive players.
Dublanko has struggled in coverage this season but has been a steady run defender. He’s made 15 solo run stops and holds an 81.7 run-defense grade on the year.
COVERAGE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: CB LORENZO BURNS, MONTREAL
The Alouettes’ pass defense did its job against the Redblacks last week, holding Ottawa to 286 yards on 44 pass attempts. Burns was outstanding at his outside corner spot, allowing just three catches on eight targets for 19 yards. While he did allow a touchdown, it took a perfect throw and a toe-tap catch to beat him. He more than made up for it by breaking up three other passes. Burns faced 28 coverage matchups against top Redblacks receivers Eugene Lewis and Justin Hardy, and he was in tight coverage on 25 of those snaps.
Burns earned a 78.4 coverage grade for the game, adding to his season-long mark of 86.5, which ranks fourth among all defensive backs.
