The Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Thamma has shown a decent hold in collections on the second day. According to very early estimates, the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film has collected in the range of Rs. 18.50 crores to Rs. 19.50 crores on the second day, taking the total collections to approx. Rs. 44 crores.
The film has seen a 30% dip in business on the second day, which is a reasonable hold, though the film needs to settle down at this number over the next four days to reach a result of Rs. 100 crores over the 6-day weekend period. The reports are positive, particularly in urban markets, indicating a strong surge in business over the Friday to Sunday conventional weekend.
The film is continuing to do well in the urban markets, though a number in the north of Rs. 20 crores would have been a better result. Nonetheless, these numbers are solid for a standalone Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna film, and the universe factor has helped it scale new heights by spiking intrigue around what’s next in the offing.
The film will end up becoming the biggest grosser for Ayushmann Khurrana, and set things up well for the future of the universe with higher stakes for the return of Thamma.
