The 10 nominees for the 2025 African Player of the Year - Mohamed Salah, Achraf Hakimi, Victor Osimhen & Co.

Africa is a continent with an ever-growing affect on top level football, with many of the best club’s greatest stars emerging from that continent. From those players, the contenders on the 10-man shortlist for the 2025 African Footballer of the Year Award have now been revealed. Previous winner include the likes of Didier Drogba (2006 & 2009), Yaya Touré (2011 & 2014), and Mohamed Salah (2017 & 2018). Last year’s winner was Nigeria and Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman. For the latest award, a panel of experts appointed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) nominated the players, coaches and teams that made “a significant impact” between 6 January and 15 October this year. Without further ado, let’s reveal this year’s 10 nominees. We have ranked them by their current market value.
