Both the women’s and men’s divisions feature eight national representatives, playing round-robin plus playoff formats, vying for spots for their countries into the respective World Championships next spring. Canada is represented by the Rachel Homan foursome from Ottawa in the women’s competition while Brad Jacobs’ Calgary quartet is on the men’s side.

There are eight teams in both the women’s and men’s divisions, playing a round-robin plus playoffs format, with each gender division winner advancing to the Canadian Curling Trials next month in Halifax. The winners of that event will represent Canada at the Winter Olympics in Italy in February. Among the women’s teams taking part are foursomes skipped by Ashley Thevenot and Nancy Martin – both from Martensville. The Thevenot quartet has 2 wins, 2 losses…tied for 3rd place.
