NOTRE DAME, Ind. — In a back-and-forth affair, the Albion vs. St. Mary’s women’s soccer game ended in a 2-2 draw in an MIAA matchup.
The Britons struck immediately in just the first few minutes of play, with freshman Diane Hurtado earning her third goal of the season with assists from sophomore Bella Fabrizio and junior Abby O’Connell. The Belles tied the match a few minutes later to knot the score at 1-1 heading into the intermission.
Albion came out hot again to start the second half, scoring within just the first minute of play to take the lead 2-1.Â
A little later in the half, St. Mary’s was able to level the score once more at two where the score would stand.
Sophomore Maddie Welsh recorded 4 saves to prevent the Britons from falling behind.Â
The draw puts Albion at an 8-4-2 overall record and 1-3-2 in MIAA play.
