Several WTA players who have performed well at Grand Slams have been struggling to recreate their previous successes.
That is certainly the case for 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens, who has lost 12 matches in a row after her latest defeat.
Another player who reached the Roland Garros semifinals has only won one Grand Slam match in the last three years.
That former Roland Garros semifinalist has since ended her season, while another has now lost her fifth match in a row.

Martina Trevisan reached the semifinals of Roland Garros in 2022, which was her best Grand Slam result before being beaten by Coco Gauff.
As a result of this breakthrough result at a major tournament, Trevisan reached a career-high ranking of world number 18.
However, it has been more of a struggle for the Italian since then, with Trevisan only winning two of her last 12 Grand Slam matches.
Trevisan has actually not played one Grand Slam match in 2025, having spent eight months out of action after undergoing heel surgery.
The 31-year-old won her first match back at the WTA 125 event in Bastad, but it has been more of a struggle for Trevisan since then.
Trevisan has fallen to world number 480 in the WTA rankings due to her recent inactivity, and she has now lost five matches in a row.
The most recent of those defeats came at the WTA 125 tournament in Queretaro, Mexico, where she was beaten by world number 392 Diletta Cherubini, 1-6 6-1 6-3.
Trevisan’s last win came at the lower-level tournament in Guadalajara, where she beat Olivia Gadecki in straight sets.

Despite the struggles she has recently faced, Trevisan does not appear to be throwing in the towel on this season just yet.
Trevisan has at least two tournaments remaining on her schedule for the rest of the 2025 season, as she looks to break her losing run.
After playing in Mexico, Trevisan will now head to South America for two more WTA 125 clay court tournaments.
The first of those will come in Cali, Colombia, before she plays her next tournament in Tucuman, Argentina.
Trevisan has 55 ranking points coming off her ranking in the coming weeks, but those will be the last she has to defend until July next year.
