FC Porto’s boxing team won three gold medals and two silver medals at the Regional Championship, which brought together 13 teams from the North in Matosinhos. With this outcome, the Dragons secured qualification for the Nationals, scheduled between November 21 and 23.
Alexandre Santos (elite 54 kg), Francisco Costa (junior 70 kg), and Maria Lopes (school 60 kg) dominated their respective categories, while Rodrigo Neto (cadet 63 kg) and Martin Pinto (junior 67 kg) took home silver medals.
After winning the regional titles, coach Rui Conceição stated that FC Porto boxing “moves forward together, without vanity, with great resilience, free from bad habits, and with humility towards the position it deserves and wants to continue to earn.”
