Jailton Almeida ($8,800)

Jailton Almeida is 8-1 in the UFC with eight finishes. Almeida has a skill set that could pose challenges for the UFC Heavyweight Champion, Tom Aspinall, but first, he needs to get past Alexander Volkov. Volkov is four inches taller (6’7″ vs. 6’3″), but Almeida closes the distance in the reach department as Volkov has a one-inch edge in standing reach (80″ vs. 79″).

Almeida has had a tremendous run in the UFC, winning eight of nine fights while scoring 99-plus fantasy points eight times. As is true in most of his fights, Almeida’s x-factor is his ground game. Almeida started his combat sports journey training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Almeida lands over six takedowns per 15 minutes at an impressive 60 percent rate. Volkov does defend takedowns at a 72 percent rate.

Since Volkov is taller, Almeida must start this fight as the aggressor and bring the fight to him. Almeida is relentless with his takedown attempts and doesn’t stop until he gets his opponent to the ground. Almeida is 17-1 in his last 18 bouts and has only been past the second round once in that span. Usually, when Almeida gets his opponent to the mat, he either finishes them with a submission or by using his powerful ground and pound. Since a potential title opportunity is on the line, Almeida should be aggressive, which has a good chance to lead to an elite fantasy performance.

Quillan Salkilld ($8,100)

Quillan Salkilld takes on Nasrat Haqparast in the featured Prelim at UFC 321. Salkilld enters this fight on a nine-fight win streak and has begun his UFC career 2-0. Haqparast, who is the more experienced fighter in this matchup, has won five consecutive fights in the UFC.

Although he has only had two fights in the promotion, it couldn’t have gone better for Salkilld, who is averaging 122.3 points per contest, which is the most on this card. Even though his last victory against Yanal Ashmouz was via decision, Salkilld outlanded him by 38 significant strikes while finishing with over seven minutes of control time and eight takedowns.

Yes, Haqparast is more experienced, but Salkilld has the height (6’0″ vs. 5’10”) and reach (75″ vs. 72″) advantage in this contest. Salkilld is a good striker, but he has found a ton of success on the ground so far in the UFC. Through two fights in the UFC, Salkilld is averaging 8.41 takedowns per 15 minutes, which is an incredible feat. When Salkilld showcases his elite striking and high-level ability on the ground, he is a tough guy to beat.

Mario Bautista ($6,600)

At first glance, you might ask why Mario Bautista is the lowest-priced fighter on this card at $6,600, as he is currently on an eight-fight win streak. But that is because he is taking on No. 2 Umar Nurmagomedov, who recently challenged for the Bantamweight title. Even though Baustista has a tough matchup and is a +470 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook, this bout is a lot closer than the odds and Baustista’s price tag suggest.

Bautista, like Nurmagomedov, is a well-rounded fighter and lands more significant strikes than him on the feet (6.13 vs. 4.38). Also on the ground, Nurmagomedov averages more takedowns per 15 minutes, but Bautista has a 67 percent takedown defensive rate.

If Bautista displays his elite takedown defense early in this contest and has a higher output than Nurmagomedov on the feet, he has the potential to find success. During his win streak, Bautista has had five performances of at least 99 fantasy points, with his lowest being 71 points during that stretch. Bautista has been counted out before and has shut out the noise, silencing the critics. If Bautista disrupts Nurmagomedov’s game plan, there is no reason he can’t be a tremendous value play for your lineup.
