Minnesota +3.5 over L.A. CHARGERS

Article content

Well, there goes Carson Wentz’s improbably perfect record on Thursday nights. The Chargers offence looked stellar in dismantled the highly rated Vikings defence – something to think about going forward.

CINCINNATI -6.5 over New York Jets

Joe Flacco knows the assignment and peppering Ja’Marr Chase with targets is a good way to run up the score. It’s not like these Jets will offer much resistance, with the owner publicly criticizing the starting QB and all.

CAROLINA +7.5 over Buffalo

The Panthers aren’t going to bolster their modest win streak here, but they have shown a solid ability to turn it on late in games and at least keep it close against most opponents. That leaves a backdoor cover very much in play against the Bills.

Play VideoSan Francisco +1.5 over HOUSTON

The Texans come in on short rest having played the very-late Monday nighter and continuing to struggle on offence. The 49ers are going to be in play every week unless Christian McCaffrey’s Achilles tendonitis starts acting up again.

New York Giants +7 over PHILADELPHIA

Will the Eagles get their vengeance from that Thursday nighter just a couple of weeks ago? Philly hasn’t exactly pulled itself out of its tailspin on offence and the Giants have proven to be electric with Jaxson Dart and Bo Skattebo leading the attack.

NEW ENGLAND -7 over Cleveland

The Browns’ few strengths are defence at home and the running game. Well, they’re on the road and the Pats are one of the top defences at stopping the run.

BALTIMORE -6.5 over Chicago

Lamar Jackson is back at practice, so we’d assume he’s good to go. That’s bad news for the Bears, who are on a decent winning streak, but sophomore QB Caleb Williams remains unconvincing.

ATLANTA -7 over Miami

The Dolphins are in a death spiral and, to make matters worse, there’s not much of a chance they’ll fire Mike McDonald if they lose this because they’re back in action on Thursday night.

NEW ORLEANS +4 over Tampa Bay

The Saints have looked much more competent at home than on the road and get a Bucs team that remains incredibly banged-up and on short rest.

DENVER -3.5 over Dallas

It was a downright fluke that the Broncos scored 33 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Giants last week after being shutout through three quarters. But the Broncos should be very able to run the ball all over the Cowboys defence in this one.

INDIANAPOLIS -14 over Tennessee

This is a massive line to be spotting in a division rivalry game, but the Colts have already crushed the lowly Titans once and certainly have the offence to do it again.

PITTSBURGH +3 over Green Bay

Two factors to look out for here with the first, obvious one being this is Aaron Rodgers’ first game against the Packers since leaving. The other is the Steelers’ great record as a home dog and are coming in with extra rest.

KANSAS CITY -12.5 over Washington

Without Jayden Daniels and with a defence that hasn’t held up well against decent opponents, the Commanders are in a very tough spot against Patrick Mahomes in prime time.
