CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Princeton women’s tennis team kicked off play at the Ivy League Individual Championships on Friday.
The Tigers had two players advance to the next round in singles play with a spot in the ITA conference masters on the line.
Pearlie Zhang battled it out with Michelle Li of Columbia, but went on to secure a 7-6(3), 0-6, 11-9 victory.
Madeleine Jessup had two very different sets in her win. Jessup took the tiebreak to win the first set 7-6(4) but dominated in the second, 6-0 to defeat Anne Yang of Brown.
Zhang and Jessup will face two Harvard opponents in Charlotte Owensby and Polina Krumkachev respectively tomorrow.
