Patients whose appointments or procedures need to be rescheduled will be contacted directly

Sault Area Hospital declared a Code Grey at 1 a.m. today due to an infrastructure – hardware issue.

As a result, some of the hospital’s computer systems are currently down.

“This outage is related to an infrastructure – hardware issue and is not a cybersecurity incident. SAH has activated its downtime procedures to ensure continuity of care,” a news release said.

These manual procedures may lead to delays, and some patient appointments or procedures may need to be rescheduled. Any affected individuals will be contacted directly by a member of the SAH team.

Patient safety remains SAH’s highest priority. All emergency cases will continue to be prioritized, and emergency care will not be delayed. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or proceed to the Emergency Department, the release said.

“Our Information Technology team is working diligently to restore systems as quickly as possible. Updates will be shared with the public as more information becomes available.

“We thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.”
