It is finals day at the WTA Tokyo Open as Belinda Bencic takes on Linda Noskova for the title after a week of grueling tennis in the Tokyo heat. Here at LWOT, as always, we’ll be offering a complete breakdown of the final along with a prediction. But who do you think will claim the Tokyo crown?

WTA Tokyo Final Prediction
Belinda Bencic vs Linda Noskova

Head-to-head: First meeting

Since her comeback on tour after her maternity break, Bencic has done exceptionally well to get back into the world’s top 15 in short order, as she has had a highly productive 2025 season, winning the title in Abu Dhabi early on and reaching the final four at Wimbledon in the summer. This week, raising her game under pressure has been the theme, as she has lived dangerously in both of her previous matches, winning back-to-back three-set thrillers to make the final.

For Noskova, 2025 has also seen her reach new heights on tour, making a WTA 1000 final in Beijing a couple of weeks ago and, for the very first time, cracking the world’s top 20. This tournament has been quite lucky for her, as her opponent in the quarterfinals had to retire mid-match, and Elena Rybakina in the semifinals gave her a walkover to the final.

Both of these players like to play aggressively, on the front foot, taking the ball early and looking for winners rather than forcing their opponent into errors. The backhand-to-backhand exchange will be crucial, as will the second serve, since the player who defends their second delivery more effectively is likely to win. At her best, Bencic has played the better tennis this tournament, but after back-to-back battles, fatigue might play a role.

Noskova, on the other hand, comes into the final well-rested and ready, having been knocking on the door for a WTA title for some time. The final should be tight and decided by who plays fresher and more aggressively in the key moments, with the younger Czech looking ready to claim her first tour title.

Prediction: Noskova in 3
