Dustin Johnson and LIV Golf have reportedly agreed to an extension following a recent meeting with officials in New York.

Back in 2022, Johnson became one of a handful of golfers to ditch the PGA Tour for the Saudi-backed league, with the two-time major winner signing a three-year deal worth close to $100 million to make the switch. Alongside Johnson, who recently missed out on playing in the 2025 edition of the Ryder Cup, the likes of Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed, and Bryson DeChambeau also decided to join LIV Golf.

Three years on from making their decision to leave the PGA Tour, the current deals of Johnson, Koepka, and Reed are all set to expire either this year or next, which has left them scrambling to qualify for majors after their sudden realization. Both DeChambeau and Koepka’s contracts expire next year, with the former admitting he is close to agreeing to an extension with LIV before the Ryder Cup.

However, it has seemingly been confirmed that Johnson will be extending his contract with LIV Golf, despite it being mooted that he could look to return to the PGA Tour due to his poor performances in the majors since his departure.

Posting on X, ‘FlushingIt’ reported Johnson has agreed to an extension, which will see him continue to lead the 4 Aces next year, alongside Reed, Jason Kokrak, and Harold Varner III.

Johnson is said to have agreed to terms on a new deal recently after his representatives met with LIV officials in New York last month.

“Multiple sources confirm that Dustin Johnson has signed a new contract with LIV Golf,” wrote ‘FlushingIt’.

“The details of the deal are unknown at this stage, but the 2022 Individual Championship winner was in New York recently to meet with officials and will be returning as captain of 4 Aces GC in 2026.

“There’s been lots of speculation about star names leaving the league, but we understand that most players up for renewal this year have already agreed terms and will be teeing it up next season, with all players not released or relegated also expected to do so.”

While Johnson topped the individual points list and his 4Aces won LIV’s team championship during the inaugural LIV Golf season, the two-time major winner has struggled individually for form of late, particularly at major events.

This year, Johnson missed the cut at the Masters, the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, before finishing tied-23rd at The Open Championship.

Johnson’s last tournament appearance saw him finish up -4 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the beginning of October, with the event being won by Robert MacIntyre.
