The New York Giants will be without their leading rusher moving forward, as rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a dislocated ankle in Week 8, all but officially knocking him out for the remainder of the 2025 season.
He was carted off the field Sunday with his ankle supported in an aircast. Skattebo underwent surgery for the injury on Sunday evening in the Philadelphia area, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
The injury is another heartbreaking blow for the Giants, who have found a spark with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart behind center. Star receiver Malik Nabers is already out for the season with a torn ACL suffered in Week 4. As a rookie, Nabers tallied 109 receptions for 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns despite catching passes from a combination of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito, Tanner McKee and Tim Boyle.
Next up in the lineup will be second-year RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. and veteran Devin Singletary, though neither may be particularly relevant for fantasy football.
As the focal point of the run game in 2024, Tracy finished as the RB32 in fantasy points per game in half-PPR scoring formats, exceeding 15 fantasy points just twice last season despite leading the team in rushing attempts, yards and touchdowns.
