Floyd Mayweather Jr. reportedly could reignite a rivalry with a fellow boxing legend in a marquee matchup next year.

According to The Ring’s Mike Coppinger, Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are “in talks for a potential rematch in 2026.” The fight reportedly “is being explored as another Netflix boxing event.”

“I am hearing from reliable sources that Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, yes more than ten years later, a rematch is being seriously discussed to take place next year on Netflix,” Coppinger said on Inside The Ring (h/t Kyle Dimond of Bloody Elbow). “I think there’s a real possibility this is going to happen.”

Mayweather and Pacquiao met for the first time in 2015 in a fight that headlined the highest-grossing pay-per-view in boxing history at the time. Mayweather won the fight by unanimous decision, but many believed the fight went down much later in their careers than it should have.

It was announced last month that Mayweather and heavyweight legend Mike Tyson agreed to an exhibition fight in the spring of 2026, so a rematch against Pacquiao would be another big-money fight for the 48-year-old. Mayweather most recently was in the ring in August 2024 in an eight-round exhibition against John Gotti III.

Pacquiao returned to the ring this past August after a nearly four-year layoff and fought WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios to a majority draw. Many were impressed by how good the 46-year-old looked after so much time away.

Fans would surely be excited to see Pacquiao get the chance to avenge his loss to Mayweather, so many will be anxiously awaiting an official announcement for the fight.
