In his new role as Vice President of the International Boxing Association (IBA), former eight-division world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is eager to guide the next generation of boxers around the world.

“My goal is to help inspire and guide the next generation of boxers around the world.”

This is what eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao envisions after his appointment as the Vice President of the International Boxing Association (IBA).

The 46-year-old Filipino boxing icon will collaborate with IBA President Umar Kremlev in creating athlete-centered programs designed to enhance opportunities for boxers worldwide.

“Manny Pacquiao is widely beloved around the globe. He is a true boxing legend who wants to leave a legacy beyond the ring. His life story mirrors the spirit of IBA’s mission: giving every young boxer a fair chance to achieve their dreams,” Kremlev said in a press release on the body’s official website.

This new responsibility also offers Pacquiao a chance to further develop boxing and raise its prestige worldwide.

In his role, Pacman will play “an active part in advancing the organization’s mission,” from promoting its ideals to representing the IBA at major international events.

He is also expected to “carry out special assignments assigned by Kremlev or the IBA Board.”

Pacquiao made his return to the ring in July against Mario Barrios, showing flashes of his former self in a bout that ended in a majority draw.
