The 2025 World Series is heading to the West Coast with each team already owning a signature victory.
On Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 3 of the Fall Classic, with the series tied 1-1 after two matchups in Canada. Both squads have successfully played their brand of baseball in a key win thus far.
Toronto’s postseason success has largely come from its ability to put bat-to-ball and spark offensive rallies, a theme that emerged yet again in its 11-4 win to open the World Series on Friday. Five Blue Jays players had multiple hits, including three from catcher Alejandro Kirk.
However, L.A.’s unreal run of masterful performances from starting pitchers was showcased on Saturday evening in Toronto, when Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched his second consecutive postseason complete game. Throwing 105 pitches, the star pitcher and a three-RBI night from his catcher, Will Smith, were the storylines as the Dodgers bounced back with a 5-1 victory.
Now, it’ll be a pair of right-handed former All-Stars in Max Scherzer and Tyler Glasnow getting the ball in Game 3, where the Dodgers and Blue Jays will each try to take command of the series. With the World Series now in L.A., one of the most pivotal matchups in the seven-game set arrives Monday night.

It’s now Kiner-Falefa up with a runner on first and two outs.

End of the 14th inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
1:36 a.m.: The Dodgers had runners on first and second with two outs, but they can’t drive home the game-winning run.

We’re going to 15 innings, making it the second-longest game (by innings) in World Series history.
1:34 a.m.: After Muncy got on base with a walk, Teoscar Hernandez advances him with a single through the left infield.
But, the next at-bat, Edman pops out and there are two outs with Miguel Rojas out.
1:30 a.m.: A few pitches after being feet away from a walkoff, Muncy walks. The Dodgers now have a runner on first with one out.
1:25 a.m.: Will Smith came five feet away from winning the game for the Dodgers.
Smith drives one to left-center field, but it’s just in front of the wall where Varsho is waiting for it.
There’s one out in the bottom of the 14th.
1:20 p.m.: The Dodgers have a second 1-2-3 in extras, with Gimenez striking out swinging as the Blue Jays go down in order.
It’s now the bottom of the 14th in a 5+ hour game.
End of the 13th inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
1:10 a.m.: Freeman, with the bases loaded, drives one to deep center field, but it comes up short.
Varsho has plenty of space to make the catch and the Dodgers and Blue Jays are going to the 14th inning.

1:07 a.m.: Call — who was acquired from the Washington Nationals in the middle of the season — pops up and Edman is not able to tag from third. With Ohtani coming up, the Blue Jays once again choose to walk him.
Then, Schneider and Toronto decide to walk Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman is up with the bases loaded in extras.
Freeman was up with the bases loaded in extras at the first World Series game at Dodger Stadium in 2024, and we know how that ended.
1:06 a.m.: Rojas gets a bunt down and Edman advances to third.
Though Rojas is out, Edman is only one base away with Alex Call up and one out.
1:03 a.m.: Tommy Edman starts the bottom of the 13th with a bang, hitting the ball deep to right field and strolling into second with a double.
With no outs, the Dodgers are threatening.
1:00 a.m.: Henriquez throws a fastball to Heineman, who hits the ball deep to center but it isn’t enough.

The Blue Jays can’t do anything with Varsho on base and it’s going to the bottom of the 13th.
12:59 a.m.: Henriquez started the inning with getting out Guerrero Jr. on a grounder, and after that, he strikes out Bichette.
But, with two outs, Henriquez hits Varsho and the Blue Jays have a runner on.
End of the 12th inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
12:53 a.m.: The Blue Jays have their first 1-2-3 inning of extras, with Fisher striking out Smith then getting both Muncy and Hernandez to pop out.
The Dodgers are bringing out Edgardo Henriquez for the top of the 13th.
12:42 a.m.: It took Kershaw eight pitches to get out Nathan Lukes, but Los Angeles gets out of the jam.
Kershaw gets Lukes to ground to Edman, who flips the ball to Freeman with his glove.

The Blue Jays can’t score and it’s the bottom of the 12th.
12:37 a.m.: Time for another storybook moment.
Clayton Kershaw — who is set to retire after the season — is coming in with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the 12th inning.
Can Kershaw deliver one more signature moment? We’re about to find out.
12: 30 a.m.: After Kirk walked to start the inning — and Tyler Heineman took his place on first — Straw grounded out to first on a bunt.
The next at-bat, Clement hits a grounder to second and Betts is able to make an athletic throw to first. But, Heineman goes to second.
End of the 11th inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
12:23 p.m.: It’s going to 12 in Los Angeles.
Freeman gets weak contact on a fly out, and the Blue Jays get out of trouble.
12:21 a.m.: Betts singles through left field, and now two superstars are on base.
Batting with two outs: another superstar, Freddie Freeman.
12:20 a.m.: Though there are no runners on and two outs, the Blue Jays walk Ohtani for the second time in extra innings.
It’s now Betts with Ohtani on first.
12:14 a.m.: It’s a 1-2-3 inning for Sheehan in the top of the 11th.
He strikes out Varsho, who goes down swinging, and now it’s the bottom of the 11th. Braydon Fisher is in the game pitching for Toronto.
End of the 10th inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
12:07 a.m.: To the 11th we go. Edman flies out after the Dodgers had runners on first and second.
12:02 a.m.: With one out in the inning, Hoffman hits Smith with a pitch.
The Dodgers have a runner on first with Max Muncy up.
11:53 p.m.: This game keeps getting better and better.
With Davis Schneider on first, Lukes hits a double down the right-field line. It looked like the Blue Jays would take the lead, but the Dodgers completed a relay – from Teoscar Hernandez to Edman to Smith – and Schneider is out.

It’s 5-5 going to the bottom of the 10th.
11:47 p.m.: After two scoreless innings, Sasaki’s day is done.
Emmett Sheehan comes in for Los Angeles to pitch the top of the 10th.
End of the ninth inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
11:46 p.m.: We’re going to extra innings in Game 3.
Betts flies out after Ohtani gets thrown out at second, and Hoffman works only three batters.
This game will take 10 or more innings to see who will take a 2-1 lead.
11:42 p.m.: Toronto does not even bother pitching to Ohtani, walking him with no runners on.
But, on the next at-bat, Ohtani is thrown out trying to steal second base, with Kirk throwing a dart to Kiner-Falefa.

There are two outs and no runners on.
11:38 p.m.: The game is tied 5-5, and the Blue Jays opt to bring in closer Jeff Hoffman in for the ninth inning.
Though the Blue Jays cannot win the game, Hoffman will face critical batters in Pages, Ohtani and Betts.
11:34 p.m.: With two outs, Sasaki walks Kirk and the Blue Jays now have Myles Straw up.
But, Straw grounds out to first, and the Dodgers head to the bottom of the ninth with a chance to win the game.
11:30 p.m.: Game 3 has been full of electric moments on the bases, and there’s another in the ninth.
With Isaiah Kiner-Falefa on first, Varsho hits a liner to first, which is bobbled by Freeman. But, Edman went and scooped up the error, and he threw to third before Kiner-Falefa was there, and the base runner is out.
3-4-5

Varsho got to first, but there are no runners in scoring position with two outs.
11:26 p.m.: Guerrero Jr. had a chance to put his stamp on the World Series to open up the ninth inning, and though he drives one deep to right, it’s not deep enough.
Teoscar Hernandez is able to get under the fly out and the Dodgers have one down in the ninth.
End of the eighth inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
11:22 p.m.: Chris Bassitt came in for the eighth inning and delivered a scoreless three outs, like he did in both ALCS Game 7 and World Series Game 1.
Bassitt gets Kike Hernandez swinging, and it’s a 1-2-3 inning. It’s all tied heading to the ninth.
11:16 p.m.: Sasaki had runners on second and third with two outs, but Nathan Lukes hit a bouncer right back to the pitcher, who has to leap a little to make the play. He throws out Lukes at first and it’s 5-5 going to the bottom of the inning.
11:10 p.m.: It’s a pitching change for Los Angeles.
With Barger and Gimenez — who hit a single — on base, the Dodgers take out Treinen, and it’s now Roki Sasaki in.
Sasaki signed with the Dodgers this offseason as one of the highly-anticipated free agents.
11:07 p.m.: While it looked like Betts had an easy out to first on a Barger grounder, an error causes the Blue Jays player to be safe at first.
Toronto has a runner on with no outs.
End of the seventh inning: Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 5
11:02 p.m.: It’s 5-5 at the end of the seventh.
While the Dodgers had two runners on after Ohtani’s game-tying home run, they can’t add on more.
But, it’s a tie game. We have the makings of another World Series classic.
11:01 p.m.: With the home run, Ohtani just accomplished a remarkable feat.

Ohtani is 4-for-4 with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs tonight.
10:48 p.m.: Treinen gets out of the inning, but not before Bichette and the Blue Jays take a 5-4 lead.
It was the Dodgers who took the lead in the seventh inning in Game 2, and now it’s Toronto who does it in Game 3.
Blue Jays 5, Dodgers 4
10:44 p.m.: Bo Bichette has given Toronto the lead.
With two outs and Guerrero Jr. on first, Bichette hits an opposite-field liner past Freeman. While Hernandez made a throw at home, it was off-line and Guerrero Jr. scores.

End of the sixth inning: Blue Jays 4, Dodgers 4
10:28 p.m.: Varland gets out of the sixth, with Kike Hernandez reaching on an infield single, but Guerrero Jr. picking off Teoscar Hernandez at third.

This is the second time this World Series Toronto has taken the lead with a three-plus run inning. In Game 1, they put up nine runs in the sixth and won 11-4.
Today, it’s a four-run third to make it 4-2.
