The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have brought back Canadian receiver AK Gassama.

The five-foot-nine, 165-pound target was a sixth-round pick in the 2024 CFL Draft out of the University of Manitoba. He attended training camp with the Blue Bombers before returning to the Bisons for his final year of collegiate eligibility where he was named a Canada West all-star for the third straight season.

Gassama returned to the Blue Bombers for training camp in 2025 but was released as part of the team’s final cuts.

The 26-year-old native of Winnipeg, Man. finished his collegiate career with 136 catches for 1,895 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 31 times for 203 yards and recorded 28 total returns for 266 yards.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-8) will visit the Montreal Alouettes (10-8) in the East Semi-Final at Percival Molson Stadium on Saturday, November 1 with kickoff slated for 2:00 p.m. EDT. The two teams met at Princess Auto Stadium in the final week of the regular season as the Blue Bombers came away with a 19-10 victory.

The weather forecast in Montreal calls for a high of 8 degrees with rain. The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS, and CTV in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune-in on 680 CJOB in Winnipeg and TSN 690 in Montreal.
