ARCH Hospice is entering a new chapter of leadership and growth as Stephanie Fetherston steps into the role of executive director.
As a cornerstone of compassionate end-of-life care in the Algoma District, ARCH provides comfort, dignity and support to individuals and families during life’s most meaningful moments.
The executive director plays a key role in guiding the organization’s vision, supporting the dedicated staff and volunteers who make hospice care possible, and ensuring that ARCH continues to meet the evolving needs of the community.
“Strong leadership is essential to sustaining the quality and compassion ARCH is known for,” said Dan Puddister, ARCH Hospice board chair.
“Our team, our community and our residents all benefit from thoughtful direction rooted in understanding and care. We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie to this important role.”
Stephanie joins ARCH with extensive experience in health care, mental health and community services, and holds a master of social work degree.
She spent nine years working within the health-care system, gaining valuable experience in both front-line and leadership roles that shaped her patient-centred approach and collaborative leadership style.
Her background in leadership and quality improvement will help strengthen ARCH’s programs and foster a workplace culture where staff and volunteers feel supported, valued and inspired.
“It is an honour to join such a compassionate and skilled team,” Stephanie said. “ARCH’s reputation for excellence comes from the people who work and volunteer here every day. I look forward to supporting their continued success and ensuring that families throughout Algoma continue to receive the highest quality end-of-life care.”
As ARCH welcomes Stephanie to its leadership team on Nov. 24, 2025, the ARCH Hospice board of directors would like to thank Kim Streich-Poser for stepping in as interim executive director to help ARCH over the last six months. The board is also grateful for the leadership and support of Nicole Pearce, former executive director, for her many years of service at ARCH.
As it enters this new chapter in its history, ARCH remains deeply committed to its mission of providing comfort, dignity and compassionate care for every individual and family who walks through its doors.
