The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed wide receiver Abdul Janneh Jr. to a future contract that starts in 2026, and released quarterback Brayden Schager and defensive back Jordan Perryman on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Abdul Janneh Jr. is six foot three and weighs 195 pounds. The 23-year-old from Hanover, Pennsylvania, went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Janneh Jr. on May 21, 2025. In 2025, he made three catches for 36 yards in two preseason games. The Roughriders released him on May 31, 2025.
Collegiately, Janneh Jr. played three seasons at Duquesne University (2020-22) with 51 catches for 671 yards, 10 touchdowns, two punt returns for 22 yards, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 20 games for the Dukes. In 2022, he made 43 catches for 579 yards, nine touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 11 games. He was named First Team All-NEC and Phil Steele in 2022.
Then, he transferred to Georgia Tech (2023-24) with 13 catches for 231 yards, two touchdowns, and six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) in 25 games for the Yellow Jackets. In 2023, he averaged 20.3 receiving yards per catch, and 15.6 receiving yards per catch in 2024.
Brayden Schager is six foot three and weighs 220 pounds. The 23-year-old from Dallas, Texas, attended the Baltimore Ravens rookie minicamp in 2025. The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Schager to the practice squad on September 30, 2025.
Collegiately, Schager played four seasons at Hawaii (2021-24), completing 851 of 1,435 passes (59%) for 9,096 yards, 60 touchdowns, 42 interceptions, 298 carries for 319 yards, eight rushing touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 42 games for the Rainbow Warriors.
In 2023, he ranked second among all FBS quarterbacks with nine passes for 50+ yards, and threw for 300+ yards six times. He became the eighth quarterback in program history to post six 300+ passing yards in a single game. Schager was an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention in 2023, a semifinalist for the Wuerffel Trophy in 2024, and named to the preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award, the Manning Award, and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Jordan Perryman is six foot and weighs 202 pounds. The 26-year-old from Hanford, California, re-signed with the B.C. Lions on December 19, 2024. In 2025, Perryman made six tackles in two preseason games. The Lions released him on June 1, 2025. The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed Perryman to the practice squad on October 7, 2025.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed Perryman as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023, but he did not play in the preseason due to an undisclosed injury. The Raiders released him on September 5, 2023.
The B.C. Lions signed Perryman on February 26, 2024. In 2024, he made seven tackles, six tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 10 games. The Lions released him on November 3, 2024.
Collegiately, Perryman played five seasons at the University of California-Davis (2017-21) with 140 tackles (117 solos, 23 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions for 21 yards, 23 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and three kick returns for 35 yards in 42 games for the Aggies. He was named First Team All-Big Sky Conference and Third Team All-American by Phil Steele in 2021.
Then, Perryman transferred to Washington in 2022 with 37 tackles (25 solos, 12 assists) and one pass breakup in ten games for the Huskies.
