Jamie Lee Curtis is the queen of compliments.

The Oscar winner, 66, is no stranger to hyping up her friends on a red carpet, so it’s no surprise that she did so when seeing Sydney Sweeney at Variety’s 2025 Power of Women event.

In a video captured by Entertainment Tonight, the Freakier Friday star, on hand to present, could be seen positively clocking Sweeney’s daring ensemble, pointing up and down before giving the Euphoria actress, 28, a hug.

Not only did Sweeney command the attention of her Hollywood comrade, she turned lots of heads on the red carpet by going braless in her figure-hugging crystal gown styled by Molly Dickson and pulled from the Christian Cowan x Elias Matso Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Curtis has gone viral multiple times for praising her pals, like when she gave a flattering NSFW remark about her friend Allison Janney’s sexy pantless look at the July 17 Las Culturistas Culture Awards. The moment was shared with fans in an Instagram video posted by Janney, capturing Curtis telling her to “go f— yourself” in a flattering NSFW remark made in jest.

Sweeney was honored at Variety’s Oct. 29 gala after being announced as one of the publication’s cover stars. In her interview, the White Lotus Emmy nominee commented on her sex symbol status while addressing cosmetic enhancement rumors.

At the event, Sweeney also received support from presenter Sharon Stone, who openly defended Sweeney against backlash for her controversial American Eagle campaign. The commercial was criticized for its tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” which prompted critics to claim that the usage of the word “jeans” was a play on “genes” and was executed with racially charged messaging.

In the eyes of Stone, “It’s okay to use what mama gave you. It’s really fine.” The Basic Instinct star told Variety, “It’s hard to be hot, and I think we all know that. It’s really okay to use every bit of hotness you have — right here, right now — and go for whatever that is, because everybody has their own certain kind of hotness, their own certain thing, and you’re supposed to go for that. Because who are you not to be beautiful? You know, who you are isn’t an accident.”
