We got a pleasant surprise this morning live from Brossard, as a familiar face made an appearance for the Montreal Canadiens.

He didn’t hit the ice, of course, but it was still great to see him around the guys.

Patrik Laine Makes an Appearance Live from Brossard

He truly seems to be well-liked within the Montreal Canadiens locker room, as players went out of their way to chat with him whenever they could.

Here’s a clip captured by TVA Sports reporter Renaud Lavoie:

Let’s not forget that Laine unfortunately underwent surgery on October 24 and will miss three to four months of action because of it.

Patrik Laine, 27, who earns $8.7 million per year for one more season (this current one), has had a disappointing start to the year.

In five games this season, he has zero goals and one assist, with a minus-3 rating, and it’ll be a while before he gets the chance to improve those numbers.

We’re definitely thinking of him, and it’s great to see him back with his teammates in Brossard.

In the meantime, Quebec native Joe Veleno becomes a regular forward for Martin St-Louis’ squad and is getting a golden opportunity.
