Kelsey Mitchell’s game has only improved since the Indiana Fever selected Caitlin Clark at the top of the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Herself a former top-two draft pick, Mitchell’s two best scoring seasons in the WNBA have been this season and the one before it. In 2024, Mitchell averaged 19.2 points on career-best 46.8 percent shooting; in 2025, with Clark injured for much of the season, Mitchell has been even better.
After scoring 21 points in an upset win over the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, Mitchell is now fourth in the league in scoring at 19.6 points per game. And she has made a little history along the way.

Mitchell’s performance against the Aces made her the fourth-fastest guard in WNBA history to reach 4,400 career points; her 4,413 points are the second-most in Fever history, extending her gap to Katie Douglas in third place.
However, Mitchell has a long way to go to catch Tamika Catchings atop Indiana’s leaderboard. Catchings, one of the greatest players in WNBA history, scored 7,380 points in a Fever jersey on her way to winning an MVP, a WNBA title and six Defensive Player of the Year awards.
But the points record is not a concern right now. For Mitchell and the Fever, building on Thursday’s 80-70 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse is a must. Indiana, two games out of the #4 seed in the league standings with a 13-12 record, visits the struggling Chicago Sky on Sunday afternoon.
