The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will crown its 2025 champion with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship race on Oct. 31 at Phoenix Raceway.
Corey Heim has been the runaway driver of the year in the 2025 Truck Series, winning 11 races. But in the current points format, the title is not guaranteed.
Heim, Kaden Honeycutt, Ty Majeski and Tyler Ankrum make up the Championship 4. The goal is simple: The top finisher of the four drivers is the 2025 Truck Series champion.
Layne Riggs was atop the charts in qualifying but will start at the rear of the field after a pre-race inspection penalty. Chandler Smith will lead the field to green.

After all that, the race ends as they often have this season: Corey Heim in the lead with no one around him.
“Badasses!” Heim’s team yells over the radio. Heim is emotional on the radio. Well deserved.
Ty Majeski, Corey Heim and Kaden Honeycutt are 1-2-3 prior to the restart. Let’s do this again…
Heim has been money all night on restarts and has fresher tires.
Heim takes the lead on the restart. They take the white flag.
Ty Majeski goes high! Corey Heim goes low! They virtually split the top 10 and are 1-2 heading to the white flag.
But! A crash, and the caution is out before the field takes the white flag. What a restart. They’ll go again.
There was a four-wide battle into turn 3, and Tyler Ankrum, Cole Butcher, Stefan Parsons, Tanner Gray and Grant Enfinger collected one another into the outside wall. Red flag.
Parsons and Butcher did not fare well by staying out.
Ty Majeski wins the race off pit road with a two-tire stop! Corey Heim will restart outside the top five!
Stefan Parsons and Cole Butcher stay out.
Connor Mosack drives around with a tire rub and runs into the wall after a lap or two. Caution is out!
Corey Heim is pitting and wants to be tighter. Tires will matter greatly here, so that’s why the field is likely to pit here.
Heim’s decadent 2025 season comes down to a stop and a restart. Will Ankrum stay out?
The Championship 4 update with 10 laps to go:
2. Corey Heim (-0.5 seconds behind leader03. Ty Majeski (1.4 seconds)4. Kaden Honeycutt (-2.5 seconds)10. Tyler Ankrum (-8.1 seconds)
Layne Riggs leads.
Layne Riggs rockets to the lead ahead of Corey Heim, whose advantage is 0.7 seconds ahead of Ty Majeski. Tyler Ankrum has not made much ground up yet.
Ty Majeski has a solid restart, but can’t get an edge on Corey Heim. Heim is ahead, in the lead and clear by a few car lengths.
Yellow flag is back out after the clean up for the multi-car wreck. 30 laps to go.
Tyler Ankrum pits, as his team takes a big swing at the final run.
Brent Crews has an apparent issue at the green flag for the restart, and he drops straight to the back. Meanwhile, as he goes to pit road, a multi-car accident happens mid-pack. Big impact for Andres Perez, with Bayley Currey, Ben Rhodes, Gio Ruggiero involved. Something happened to Perez’s truck on the bottom lane.
Red flag at Lap 119.
They are working on a rear axle on Crews’ truck, though they have to halt work under red.
Clayton Green spins in turn 2. Caution is out. A field reset on older tires.
The Championship 4 as they run:
1. Corey Heim3. Ty Majeski4. Kaden Honeycutt18. Tyler Ankrum
Heim is staying out. Majeski and Honeycutt also stay out, while Layne Riggs and Rajah Caruth lead a group down pit road. Majeski is told he has a six-car buffer to the cars with new tires. “Should have come (down pit road),” he tells his team.
Ankrum stayed out too. Not sure if that was the optimal decision for a car that has struggled.
Chandler Smith is the free pass.
Ty Majeski had the early jump on the restart, but Corey Heim never allowed him to get clear. Heim makes the pass for the lead at the line and is away.
Ty Majeksi beats Corey Heim off pit road. The two Championship 4 drivers will line up on the front row for the next restart.
Corey Heim added another second to his lead after emerging from a pack of lap traffic late in the stage. He wins Stage 2.
The Championship 4 after 90 laps:
1. Corey Heim2. Ty Majeski4. Kaden Honeycutt17. Tyler Ankrum
Majeski tells his team that the front end went away in the final laps of the stage as Heim pulled away, and that he lacked rear grip all throughout the run. It’ll likely come down to Heim, Majeski, Brent Crews and possibly Honeycutt for the win tonight, barring late-race chaos.
Corey Heim’s lead, once more than 2 seconds, is now less than a second ahead of Ty Majeski as they work through lap traffic late in the second stage.
“Free entry and center,” Heim tells his team.
Layne Riggs is up to 8th after having to start at the rear of the field and serve a pass-through penalty on Lap 1.
Kaden Honeycutt drives past Rajah Caruth for fourth, while Tyler Ankrum hasn’t really budged from 15th. What will the No. 18 team do for strategy to become a factor in the race?
Ty Majeski drives under Brent Crews and Rajah Caruth for second place. Kaden Honeycutt is fifth. Corey Heim has a 1.5-second lead already.
Corey Heim re-takes the lead ahead of Rajah Caruth on the Stage 2 restart. Ty Majeski is third.
Corey Heim built a 3-second advantage over Brent Crews, but Crews shaved off a couple seconds before stage end. Still, Heim wins Stage 1.
The Championship 4 after Stage 1
1. Corey Heim3. Ty Majeski7. Kaden Honeycutt14. Tyler Ankrum
Honeycutt reports that he wants to be looser for entry.
Chandler Smith opts to pit with a bad vibration, and he is now a lap down in 28th. Been that kind of playoffs for Smith and the Front Row team.
Corey Heim moves past Chandler Smith for the lead as they reach lap traffic. Heim is told to take care of his race car. First stage is 45 laps.
Heim reports his truck is a little tight off, but he has satisfactory drive off.
Kaden Honeycutt is up to 11th and clearly has a good truck, at least in traffic. We’ll see when he gets up to the leaders.
Kaden Honeycutt is quickly back into the top 15, passing fellow Championship 4 driver Tyler Ankrum for 15th.
Ty Majeski moves into 4th, while Corey Heim is hunting Chandler Smith for the lead.
Chandler Smith builds a healthy lead on the restart, but here comes Corey Heim. He moves past Rajah Caruth for second.
Kaden Honeycutt is penalized for jumping out of line on the start, along with Jack Wood. That’s a big mistake for the Championship 4 driver in a 150-lap race. Honeycutt goes from 2nd to 30th.
Dawson Sutton is in the wall into turns 1 and 2, and he may be done for the day. A hard hit after Sutton and Daniel Hemric made contact on Lap 1.
Matt Crafton is retiring from full-time Truck Series competition following the end of the race tonight. It’s been a not-great season for the veteran champion in his final year, but he can finish it off with a good run at Phoenix. He starts 25th.
Engines are fired in the 34-truck field at Phoenix.
Corey Heim on the radio: “Couldn’t ask for a better team.” All positive vibes on the No. 11 radio.
Dawson Sutton, 19, is 17th in points in the Rackley W.A.R. entry, with a top-5 and two top-10 finishes and a 18.75 average finish. He has six straight top-20 finishes coming into the Phoenix finale.
Layne Riggs earned the pole for the Phoenix race but will have to go to the rear of the field after a penalty gained during pre-race inspection. Chandler Smith will lead the field to green. Here are where the Championship 4 will be starting:
