The Toronto Blue Jays will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series. And all pitching hands are on deck, which apparently includes Trey Yesavage.

Yesavage told reporters after Game 6 that he’s ready to go if called upon for the final game of the baseball season.

Yesavage pitched Wednesday night in Game 5, so he’s had a couple days of rest.

The rookie was historic in staking the Blue Jays to a 3-2 series lead. He struck out 12 batters, the most ever by a rookie in a World Series game.

Yesavage’s entire season has been remarkable.

He opened the year in Single-A Dunedin. Then he ascended to High-A Vancouver, Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo.

From there, Yesavage was promoted in time to make three MLB starts before the regular season ended.

He has already made five playoff appearances now, all starts, and has a chance at a sixth in relief.

The Blue Jays actually used Yesavage out of the bullpen just a bit in the minor leagues in the second half just to see how he’d adapt to that scenario if it ever mattered. The time it could matter has arrived.

There’s no time like the present for Yesavage to make his first MLB relief appearance.
