WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event looks a lot like another of its special annual shows, Night of Champions. That’s because every match scheduled for this fourth iteration of SNME in 2025 has a title at stake, including CM Punk vs. Jey Uso for the vacant world heavyweight championship and undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes in action against Drew McIntyre.

The world heavyweight title is ownerless after Seth Rollins suffered an injury, sidelining him for six months and forcing him to vacate the title. The strap will go home with either Punk or Uso, each seeking their second reign with it. Rhodes stakes the company’s biggest prize against McIntyre once more. The match comes with an added wrinkle: Rhodes has agreed to forgo his championship advantage, meaning McIntyre will win the title if Rhodes is counted out or disqualified.

Rounding out Saturday Night’s Main Event are title defenses by intercontinental champion Dominik Mysterio and WWE women’s champion Tiffany Stratton.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will be presented live from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. It is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET. CBS Sports will be with you the whole way through the event, providing updates and highlights as the action unfolds in the live blog below.

After a slow start to the match with a fair bit of posturing, things finally picked up. Rhodes played with fire in getting a bit physical with the referee in a match where a disqualification could cost Rhodes the title. McIntyre took over the match after the situation with the referee, allowing him to toss Rhodes around the ring. McIntyre also used the distraction of the championship belt being brought into the ring to hit a quick Claymore for a near fall.

McIntyre eventually drove Rhodes from the ring apron through the commentary desk, nearly resulting in Rhodes being counted out, again nearly winning the title via the unique rules of the match. Later, McIntyre shoved Rhodes into the referee, putting the referee down and allowing McIntyre to again bring the title belt into the ring. Before McIntyre could use the belt, Rhodes hit a DDT onto it, and then hit Cross Rhodes for the win. There wasn’t much steam to the match and it’s probably time to just move along from the rivalry, but the finish left the door open for things to continue. Cody Rhodes Def. Jade Cargill runs through Tiffany Stratton to win the WWE women’s championship

The match got off to a quick start, with both women hitting big moves early. Shortly after a Cargill chokeslam, Stratton hit a swanton bomb for a near fall. Cargill came back with a series of somewhat awkward fallaway slams and a powerbomb for a two-count. Cargill followed up with two more powerbombs and Jaded for the win. This was a short match, and short matches can be fine, but this one felt rushed. In the end, Cargill takes the title, but it didn’t feel like the win had any weight to it. Jade Cargill def.
