“Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino recently underwent an abs-olute body transformation — getting back the impressive six-pack he flaunted at every opportunity when the show premiered almost 16 years ago.
Sorrentino, 43, told The Post that to resurrect his washboard abs, he cut out all his favorite Italian foods like chicken cutlets and pasta, and hit the gym for close to two hours five days a week and is now down 30 pounds.

“I probably haven’t been this weight since 19 or 20 years old. I’m also realizing that maybe a lot of genetics have to do with it because as soon as I lost the weight, the abs are just there,” he said.
“I’m like, ‘Oh my God, God decided to give me back my abs.’”
The dad of three sticks to a strict diet of four scrambled eggs and oatmeal in the morning, roasted or grilled chicken and rice for lunch, and steak, chicken or fish paired with a sweet potato for dinner.
“Abs are made in the kitchen. I never cheated on my diet, but I’m going to start to implement that cheat day because I’m down to 180 now,” he said.

The reality star, who stars in the show’s spinoff, “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” said that both he and MTV were skeptical he would achieve the ambitious goal.
“Because I’m not a spring chicken. I’m not in my 20s anymore … but as the weeks started to go by, I started to see the weight come off,” said Sorrentino, who works out in his Holmdel, NJ home’s gym.

“I started telling production at MTV, ‘I think I’m going to get The Situation back. I’m putting in the work, I’m starting to look good.’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, okay.’”
In September, he posted a photo of his slimmed-down face, and fans immediately started speculating that he’d gotten work done.

“Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, he had a facelift,’ because I had just showed my face. It was all over the press … And I’m like, ‘It was gym, tanning, laundry,’” Sorrentino said, referring to the daily routine acronym “GTL” that the “Jersey Shore” cast made famous.
He also debunked any rumors of Ozempic, saying he would never use the weight loss drug since it causes muscle loss.
This Halloween, Sorrentino decided to dress as another Italian with great abs — Sylvester Stallone from “Rocky.” The Social Butterfly
The Staten Island native, who grew up in Manalapan, NJ, kept his big reveal a secret until Oct. 16 when he posed shirtless on a scissor lift in Times Square, with a billboard showcasing his shredded abs behind him — a scene that was filmed for the TV series.
“Those were genuine reactions from people that were standing in Times Square. Everyone was cheering and screaming. It was such a natural high.”

At the height of his fame, Sorrentino, who is approaching his 10th year of sobriety, was addicted to the prescription painkiller Roxicet. In 2018, he faced another setback when he was sentenced to eight months in federal prison for tax evasion.
“What a journey I’ve had from having my abs when I was first introduced to the world to now post prison, post addiction, recovery and now having them again … This is the evolution of The Situation,” said Sorrentino, who is gearing up to open the first of his treatment centers, the Archangel Centers, in Tinton Falls, NJ.

“I have the family and the story and the sobriety, and now I got the abs back. All those things are priceless. You have to earn those. I put the work in for all of that.”
Sorrentino posted photos of his new look on Instagram with one fan commenting, “Mike should go do some action movies.”
“I wouldn’t say that that is out of the question for me,” he said. “Because I feel like I’m an action figure right now.”
