Ex-Red Bull racing star Sergio Perez took a moment away from Formula 1 to celebrate another champion from a different sporting arena, Major League Baseball.

The Mexican driver shared an Instagram Story and X post congratulating the Los Angeles Dodgers and Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto on their World Series triumph, which marked the team’s second consecutive championship.

What Did Sergio Perez Say to Dodgers’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto?

The Dodgers secured their latest championship with a dominant postseason run, while Yamamoto stood out as one of the breakout stars of the campaign. His consistent performances and clutch pitching earned widespread praise, and apparently, the admiration of the F1 driver as well.

“Back-to-back champs!! Congrats @dodgers and @yoshinobu_yamamoto, what a monster MVP run! Kudos to #TWGSports,” Perez wrote, posing alongside Yamamoto in the photo.

Both Perez and Yamamoto are represented by the same sports management agency, TWG Global, a connection the former Red Bull driver, now with Cadillac, pointed out in his message.

This crossover moment adds to Perez’s growing presence off the track in the United States, as Formula 1 continues to expand its footprint there.

Perez Balances F1 Focus with Off-Track Moments

With the 2025 F1 season entering its final stretch, Sergio Perez appears to be enjoying a brief downtime before the action resumes. Still, his mind remains on the road ahead.

“Cadillac is a legendary name in American motorsport, and to help bring such a fantastic company to Formula 1 is a huge responsibility, one I’m confident of taking on,” Perez said in an announcement, according to ESPN reporter Nate Saunders.

Notably, the Mexican driver will join Cadillac for the 2026 season, teaming up with fellow driver Valtteri Bottas.

Meanwhile, Perez’s acknowledgment of the Dodgers and Yamamoto highlights how top athletes from different sports increasingly celebrate each other’s successes, a testament to the shared competitive spirit that connects them.
