Why it’s worth it
This 24-box Advent calendar is loaded with $334 worth of beauty goodies, and for once, I believe that claim. There are so many full-sized products in this beauty gift set, which feels like a rarity in the world of beauty Advent calendars. The Sephora Collection Premium Makeup & Skincare Advent Calendar Gift Set boasts a whopping 16 full-sized products (including really good ones, like mascara and lip products), four travel-sized goodies and four accessories.
I have tested a ton of Sephora Advent calendars over the years, and honestly, this might be the best one I’ve seen from the Sephora Collection. It’s pricier than the brand’s other beauty Advent calendars, but considering the number of full-sized products you receive, it seems worth it.
Another thing I appreciate about the Advent calendar is that most of the products are actually really useful. Last Christmas, I had the opportunity to test several of Sephora’s Advent calendars, and I didn’t love the random accessories that some of them included. If I’m splurging on a $129 Advent calendar, I want actual skincare and makeup products, not cheap barrettes and nail files. In this premium gift set, all but a couple of products are true beauty products, which I liked.
Room for improvement
While the tin is cute (and reusable), it’s a different design than your traditional 24-door Advent calendar. All of the boxes are still labelled numerically, but if you care about opening doors, this setup looks different.
Additionally, some of the individual boxes arrived already opened in mine, which, while not the biggest deal, is something to note.
