COLUMBUS, Ohio — This week, members of the Ohio State women’s tennis team are looking to secure NCAA berths at the last two ITA events of the fall.
The doubles team of Luciana Perry and Teah Chavez earned the Big Ten’s berth into the ITA Conference Masters Championships, which will be held Thursday through Sunday at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. Three doubles teams – champion, finalist, third place – will qualify for the NCAA Championships. The tournament field includes one doubles team from each NCAA AQ-eligibile Division I conference.Â
Chavez and Perry both have already secured spots in the NCAA singles championship after reaching the quarterfinals at the ITA All-American Championships. Perry, already a two-time singles All-American, will be making her third NCAA singles appearance and Chavez earned her first NCAA berth.Â
