The latest UFC betting scandal is the talk of the town and Dana White has now made comments about it. We know that ahead of last Saturday’s featherweight fight between Isaac Dulgarian and Yadier del Valle that the money line changed dramatically in favour of del Valle just hours before the fight. The suspicious betting behaviour led sports books to become suspicious and flag the issue.

Since then, Dana White and co have both cut Isaac Dulgarian as well as involved the FBI in their investigations.

It appears that it isn’t just Dulgarian who could be in hot water, however…

Dana White Questions Why Fighters Didn’t Come Forward Earlier

Since the Dulgarian news, a number of UFC fighters have come forward and stated that they were offered money to throw fights.

10 fight UFC vet, Vanessa Demopoulos took to social media to say she was approached to throw fights.

In addition to this, ‘Groovy’ Lando Vannata stated he was approached to throw fights seven times, however, he later backtracked on his statement. Vince Morales has also stated that he was approached to throw a fight, however, he stated that it’s ‘not something I could live with”.

UFC President, Dana White, is asking the questions that a lot of us have been wondering… why now?

I’m wondering why these fighters didn’t say anything at the time? To their managers or ANYONE at the UFC? It’s baffling to me https://t.co/ZsTJT2B6nr

Talking last night, White said:
“You’re seeing things out on the internet where fighters are coming out and going ‘oh I was approached, I was approached’ Really? Why didn’t you tell us that? Or more importantly, why didn’t you tell law enforcement that you were approached? Now?! Now you’re saying you were approached”.

He’s got a very valid point. Why, at the time did Demopoulos, nor Morales (we’re ruling out Vanatta as he’s backtracked on his comments) come out and say anything? Why didn’t they get in contact with the UFC to say that it had happened, they’d been approached and they’d turned down the offer?

There’s a chance that if they had done so, the ‘Dulgarian case’ wouldn’t have happened at all.

It’s safe to say that Dana White is not happy, understandably so. With both Demopoulos and Morales enduring three-fight losing streaks, don’t be surprised to see them exit the UFC soon.
