Stephen Curry’s name has resided among NBA legends for a while now.

The Golden State Warriors superstar put himself in some more historic company with his performance Tuesday night.

Curry scored 28 points against the Phoenix Suns, which marked his 252nd game of 25 or more points since turning 30 years old, according to OptaStats.

That broke a tie with Kobe Bryant for second place all time. Bryant had 251 games of 25-plus points after turning 30.

The record holder is Michael Jordan, who had 256 such games.

Given Curry’s scoring potency, he’s got a great chance of breaking that MJ record this season.

It won’t get added to on Wednesday, though, because Curry is missing the Warriors’ second game of a back-to-back due to illness.

Curry acknowledged Tuesday night that he had played against the Suns while sick, adding a bit to the impressiveness of what he continues to do.

It’s a remarkable late-career run by Curry, who dealt with persistent injuries in the early stages of his career but has since turned himself into a rather durable player despite being an aging, older guard.

Curry’s place on all-time great lists continues to rise. Some will argue in his favor because of his 3-point ability, while others will point to that as a reason he’s not quite the same as Jordan or Bryant.

In reality, Curry is one of the best to ever do it. And this latest accomplishment is just one more way that he writes his name among basketball legends.
