According to Digital Chat Station, Vivo hopes to redefine smartphone camera hardware once again with the forthcoming X300 Ultra. For reference, the X200 Ultra is lauded as having some of the best smartphone cameras around, which we considered to groundbreaking when reviewing the device over the summer. While the X200 Ultra features 50 MP primary, 50 MP ultra-wide-angle, 50 MP front-facing and 200 MP periscope telephoto cameras, Digital Chat Station expects the X300 Ultra to go further when it comes to camera capabilities.

On the one hand, the camera is rumoured to feature a new 200 MP primary camera backed by a 35 mm lens. On the other hand, the device’s other rear-facing cameras are rumoured to be receiving upgrades in one way or another. In other words, the Vivo X300 Ultra should line up with superior primary, telephoto and ultra-wide-angle cameras than this year’s model. On top of that, these camera upgrades should be joined by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset to a circa 6.8-inch display with a 2K resolution. A precise release date remains unknown for now, though.
