The 4th edition of the “Investors’ golden heart” golf tournament, hosted by The Investor and its Vietnamese-language sister Nhadautu.vn, opened at Royal Golf Course in the northern province of Ninh Binh on Saturday morning, attracting 140 players.

In his opening remarks, Pham Duc Son, editor-in-chief of the publications and head of the organizing board, said the tournament aims to connect domestic and international investors to support disadvantaged individuals, including poor but outstanding students.

With enthusiastic backing from Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam, a joint venture between South Korea’s Hyundai Motor and Vietnam’s TC Group, and participating golfers, the first three editions in 2022, 2023, and 2024 raised thousands of scholarships for underprivileged students and individuals across Vietnam.

This year, the tournament is again organized by the publications and MAT Group – a Hyundai Thanh Cong unit – with proceeds to aid communities in northern and central Vietnam localities which were severely affected by recent typhoons and floods, he said.

This year’s co-organizer is MAT Group and its HIO sponsor is SKODA. Diamond sponsors include Hyundai TC Motor and PGBank. Gold sponsors comprise HDMon Holdings, Gelex, Taseco Land, HDBank, and Dinh Vang Company. Co-sponsors are Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Nam A Bank, Vabis Group, KD&C Corporation, Hasco, Ciputra, MST Corporation, BRG Group, Eurowindow, MST Corporation, and Every Golf Vietnam.

The event is also supported by media agencies, including Hanoi Television, The thao va Van hoa (Sports and Culture), VietNamNet, Nha bao va Cong Luan (Journalists & Public Opinion), and Gia dinh Vietnam (Vietnam Family).

The competition is played in a stroke-play format using the System 36 handicap scoring for all divisions. To ensure fairness, the organizers randomly assign players to groups and handicaps; no golfer is allowed to change groups. Pairings are based on each player’s VGA Handicap at Royal Golf Course, updated as of November 7, 2025.

Over the years, alongside its editorial work, The Investor and Nha dau tu have consistently focused on social and charitable activities. Each year, the publications partner with philanthropists to distribute thousands of gifts and scholarships to disadvantaged communities across Vietnam.

Most recently, on September 25-26, the publications awarded 200 “Investors’ golden heart” scholarships, each worth VND1 million ($38), to students in Chieng So commune (formerly Song Ma district, Son La province) and Xa Dung commune (formerly Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province).

Over the past year, the scholarships have reached communities nationwide. At the start of the year, organizers and philanthropists awarded VND70 million ($2,660) in Nghe An and Ha Tinh, central Vietnam, including 60 gifts worth VND30 million to Ky Phu Secondary School (VND500,000 each); 40 gifts worth VND20 million to the Hong Linh Labor Federation (VND500,000 each); and 40 gifts worth VND20 million to Son Kim 1 Primary School (VND500,000 each).

In April 2025, the publications partnered with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of former Minh Long district (Quang Ngai province) for the construction of a charity house in Long Hiep commune.

In July, another charity house valued at VND70 million was handed over in Danang. The new home belongs to Ho Thi Nhoi (Phuoc Thanh commune, former Phuoc Son district, Quang Nam province – now part of Phuoc Thanh, Da Nang city) and is located midway up Mot Nuoc Hill. The 40-sqm house includes a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom.
