Nick Aldis has had enough of Drew McIntyre, and after another out-of-line moment, the WWE star has been suspended.
During Friday’s episode of SmackDown, McIntyre once again made a chaotic moment occur in the ring. In the closing minutes of the show, McIntyre interrupted the main event between Aleister Black and WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
McIntyre — still clearly angry about his loss to Rhodes at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event — didn’t attack Rhodes, though. Instead, he hit the referee with a vicious Claymore Kick. The ref, Dan Engler, was also the referee of McIntyre’s match against Rhodes.
Clearly, McIntyre didn’t like how his match was officiated, and he let Engler know, ambushing him. Eventually, Damian Priest came out to make the save, clearing out both McIntyre and Black, who had turned on Rhodes.
Shortly after the incident, Aldis came out to ringside and announced that McIntyre was suspended. An irate McIntyre tried to argue his case. However, Aldis said that he warned McIntyre and that the star brought all this upon himself.
Just how long the suspension will last is unknown. But it seems like McIntyre is all but done with listening to WWE in general, so who knows if he’ll even adhere to it.
