HANOVER, N.H. – The Brown women’s tennis team totaled three doubles and three singles wins on day two of the Big Green Invite against Rutgers and Dartmouth.

Against Rutgers in doubles, Dani Ben-Abraham and Bella Hu fell to Mai Nguyen and Zuzanna Frankowska 6-3. Francesca Saroli and Abigail Lee beat Zeynep Ilker and Stella Schmitz 6-3. Later, both pairs won their matches against Dartmouth: Ben-Abraham and Hu defeated Sam Grosjean and Alexandra Orlins 6-4, and Saroli and Lee beat Brooke Hess and Elise Wong 6-2.

Brown won three out of four singles matches against Rutgers. Ben-Abraham beat Karina Jumazhanova 6-1, 6-0. Lee defeated Naomi Karki 6-1, 6-2. Hu topped Stella Schmitz 6-3, 6-1. Saroli lost to Savannah Cohen 6-4, 6-3.

“Great play in singles today from all four players,” Broadbent Family Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser said. “We played with a lot of clarity, stayed in points as long as necessary to create attacking opportunities or force the opponent to make an error. We have been working on this type of play all fall, and today’s across-the-board high-level performance should give our players the confidence to stay on track physically, mentally, and emotionally. I look forward to another day of quality competition tomorrow versus Rutgers.”

Schmidhauser added, “Very focused matchplay across the board from our players. In singles, we stayed committed to building points with patience and attacking at the right times. We also performed much better in doubles today with better clarity and execution. We finish the fall season tomorrow playing singles matches against Dartmouth players.”
