After wet conditions did not delay the start of the Sprint a day ago, Sunday’s São Paulo Grand Prix could also see some showers hit Interlagos.
On Saturday, the feared cyclones did not cause any delay to the Sprint in Brazil. The session began as scheduled, and every driver fitted slick tyres, as only a few wet patches remained on the main straight and through the first corners.However, that caught out several drivers, including championship contender Oscar Piastri, Franco Colapinto, and Nico Hulkenberg.

Cloudy day and potential showers at the Brazil GPFor Sunday’s Grand Prix, which sees Lando Norris, Kimi Antonelli and Piastri in the top three, some morning rain fell in São Paulo, and more could be on the way, despite it being dry with just under two hours to go until lights out.According to the FIA, there is still a 40% chance of precipitation when the race begins at 14:00 local time (17:00 BST / 18:00 CET), dropping to around 20% during the second hour of the race, while local weather reports expect it to stay dry.
It will be a cool and cloudy afternoon at the Interlagos circuit, with temperatures expected to be between 18 °C and 19°C, while asphalt temperatures are expected to range from 25 °C to 31°C.
Wind gusts could also trouble drivers, reaching speeds of 30–40 kph according to the FIA, while local reports expect 11-12kph winds throughout the race.
Verstappen to start from the pitlaneWhile championship leader Norris will hope to back up his sprint win and increase his championship lead from pole position, title rival Max Verstappen will start from the pit lane.
