Colin Miller, Cole Koepke and Brad Lambert were scratched … Prior to the game, the Jets placed Morgan Barron on injured reserve. Barron suffered an undisclosed injury in the third period during a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 1. He was diagnosed week-to-week at the time. The undisclosed injury was not lower or upper body in nature, Arniel saying the injury was “in between.” The 26-year-old Halifax native has three goals and three assists in 12 games played. Defenceman Dylan Samberg is still recovering from a broken wrist. He was injured in the pre-season game against the Flames on Sept. 27. Gustav Nyquist is still day-to-day with a lower body injury. He’s been skating with the team in a non-contact jersey. Nyquist left the game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 30 early in the first period.

Period one production
Even though the Ducks scored twice in the first period, it is safe to say Perfetti probably had the easiest chance to convert, the incident happening with 42 seconds remaining in the period. Jonathan Toews swooped behind the Anaheim net and slid a cross-crease pass to the winger who was completely unmarked at the top of the crease. Dostal was still hugging the left post when Perfetti’s redirection went wide of the right post and hit the outside of the net. In his first game of the regular season, Perfetti was credited with two shot attempts and logged 5:47 of ice time in the first period. The Jets were fortunate the Ducks didn’t pot more than two as the home side created three 2-on-1’s in the period. The two-goal opening period was the first time since the season opener against the Dallas Stars, where the club allowed two goals in a first period.
