Indiana Fever point guard Aari McDonald is set to join up with Paige Bueckers in Unrivaled after joining the Breeze BC – the newest team in the offseason league.

Founded by WNBA superstars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, Unrivaled is a three-on-three league that allows WNBA players to continue playing in the offseason – instead of going to play overseas – with Bueckers joining this year.

While Caitlin Clark is not joining Unrivaled for its second season, her teammate at the Fever in McDonald will be involved with the new team. Breeze BC will have MacDonald, Bueckers, Kate Martin, Cameron Brink, Dominique Malonga, and Rickea Jackson.

Fellow Fever stars Lexie Hull, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell are participating in the second season of the league, with Clark choosing not to join despite having multiple offers.

McDonald averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.3 steals for the Fever, having joined the team halfway through the season after a multitude of injuries.

She was waived by the team before returning a few days later.

She became a regular in the rotation by June after initially joining on a 10-day contract, stepping up after the team lost both Clark and Sydney Colson for the season.

McDonald suffered a season-ending injury herself, but is believed to be recovering well and is looking likely to be ready when Unrivaled Season 2 begins in January.

Breeze BC joined Hive BC as the two newest teams.

Hive BC will consist of Monique Billings, Saniya Rivers, Natisha Hiedeman, Ezi Magbegor, Sonia Citron, and fellow Indiana Fever star Mitchell.

McDonald is a free agent this offseason, with her performances in Unrivaled potentially having a say in where she will be playing in the WNBA in 2026.

Playing in Unrivaled should give McDonald an opportunity to show out after a number of impressive performances with the Fever.

Bueckers will look to continue her incredible momentum, with her rookie season even rivalling Clark’s first year in the league.

Her Dallas Wings had a tough season besides Bueckers’ performances, having the worst record in the league and firing head coach Chris Koclanes.
