RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Soccer was well represented in the final Great American Conference weekly awards of the season, as Julie Andersen and Emma Young were both honored by the league office.

Young earns her second GAC Goalkeeper of the Week selection of the year, having also claimed the first award of the season. She did not allow a goal in either appearance last week, recording her fourth shutout of the year in a 1-0 win over Northwestern. Against Oklahoma Baptist, she played the opening half and again kept a clean sheet, finishing the week with three total saves.

Andersen picked up her third GAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of 2025 and the fifth of her career. She played all 90 minutes anchoring the backline in the shutout victory over Northwestern, then logged 69 scoreless minutes against Oklahoma Baptist while assisting on the eventual game winner. Andersen has now been part of 21 shutouts in her SWOSU career.

SWOSU (11-4-3, 7-2-3 GAC) now turns its attention to the postseason after securing the No. 2 seed in the GAC Tournament. The Bulldogs will face third-seeded Ouachita on Friday, November 14, in Searcy, with kickoff set for 2:00 p.m. The league’s all-conference awards will be announced the evening prior at the annual awards banquet.
