Neither the Fever or Sky have quite had the season they wanted so far, but Sunday marks an opportunity to get back on track.

The second half of each squad’s 2025 campaign is under way, with Indiana (13-12) still hovering around .500 and Chicago (7-17) riding a four-game losing streak. For the Fever, injuries have played a role in their struggles heading into Sunday’s nationally televised matchup.

While various other players have missed time this season, the most significant injury for Indiana has been to Caitlin Clark. The All-Star guard’s status remains up in the air coming into Sunday’s game, as she’s dealt with a groin issue that kept her sidelined for All-Star festivities. Clark last played on July 15, her 13th game played of the season, as she dealt with a shooting slump.

Should Clark remain out on Sunday, it will be Kelsey Mitchell (19.6 points per game), Aliyah Boston (15.4 points per game) and others that will have to lead the charge.

As for Chicago, the team has struggled around the All-Star break despite strong seasons from Ariel Atkins (13.9 points per game) and Angel Reese (13.8 points and 12.5 rebounds per game). Reese, who has been dealing with a back injury, will be seeking her league-leading 16th double-double as the Sky and Fever face off in their rivalry for the third time this season.
