1987: Roger Mayweather became a two-division world champion after defeating the WBC Super Lightweight Champion, Rene Arrendo, by knockout in six rounds at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles.

1988: In Chongju, South Korea, Yong Kang Kim defeated Emil Matsushima by decision. The WBC flyweight title was disputed in this fight.

1989: In a fight where the WBC strawweight title was at stake, Jeum Hwan Choi knocked out Napa Kiatwanchai in Seoul, South Korea.

1994: In Mexico City, Ricardo López defended his WBC strawweight crown by knocking out Javier Varguez in 8 rounds.

1995: In Bangkok, Thailand, Saman Sorjaturong knocked out Yuichi Hosono in 4 rounds, defending his WBC light flyweight title.

1997: In Sapporo, Japan, Chatchai Sasakul defeated Yuri Arbachakov by decision. The WBC flyweight title was at stake in this fight.
