Certain power banks that were sold in Canada have been recalled because they pose a fire hazard, officials say.
“The portable wireless battery charger’s lithium-ion cell component may overheat, which could pose a fire hazard to consumers,” Health Canada said in a notice.
“As of Nov. 12, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada, and one incident was received in the United States.”
There were 1,913 of the power banks sold in Canada from August 2020 to October of this year; 46,160 were sold in the United States.
The affected product is the Belkin Boost Charge USB-C PD Power Bank 20K with the model number BPB002, Health Canada said.

Consumers were advised to “immediately stop using” the power banks and “safely dispose of the product in such a way that the product cannot be used again.”
“Contact your municipality for instructions on how to safely transport and dispose of lithium-ion batteries,” Health Canada said.
“Batteries are considered hazardous waste. Do not place them in household garbage.”
