JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men’s Soccer earned its second consecutive Atlantic Sun Tournament Championship title after a match-clinching goal in overtime against Bellarmine, 3-2, on Saturday evening at Hodges Stadium.

Just minutes into the overtime period, a throw-in from senior defender Alex Barnett tipped off the head of sophomore midfielder Rafa Rios with junior defender Paul Schacherer cleaning up on the backside to earn the game-winning score. It marked the second-straight ASUN Championship title and the third in program history for North Florida – 2015, 2024 and 2025.

Sophomore midfielder Anton Khelil scored his second goal in two ASUN Championship Final match appearances and recieved 2025 ASUN Championship MVP honors. He also scored the final penalty kick in the ASUN Semfinal against Stetson to advance North Florida to the ASUN Championship Final.

Schacherer, fifth year midfeidler Rentaro Miyakawa and junior defender Tyler Prebenda joined Khelil as ASUN All-Tournament selections. It marked the second-straight selection to the ASUN All-Tournament Team for Khelil and Prebenda.

Miyakawa netted the first goal of the match in the 19th minute to put North Florida up early, 1-0. It marked the first goal of the season for Miyakawa.

In the second half, Khelil sent a strike from right outside the 18-yard box to make it 2-0 lead in the 47th minute. It marked the third goal of the season for Khelil.

Redshirt senior Luciano Natoli earned two saves on 12 shots faced in the initial 90 minutes. He adds on to his two saves against Stetson in the ASUN Championship Semifinal to total four saves on 27 shots faced in the pair of ASUN Championship matches.

After two goals from Bellarmine in the 80th and 82nd minute to force overtime, Schacherer headed in the decisive goal for the Ospreys to clinch back-to-back ASUN Championship titles on their home field.
