Actor Vivek Oberoi once worked under filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan as an assistant, but few knew that during that period, he hid his identity as the son of veteran performer Suresh Oberoi. In an interview with Mashable India, the Saathiya star explained that he deliberately kept his family background private while he trained under her.
Because of this low-key entry, he took up every task assigned to him, including basic chores such as sweeping rehearsal spaces and serving refreshments to dancers. According to him, starting from the ground level gave him a sense of discipline and respect for the craft.
“To train, I used to assist Farah for a long time. I started from cleaning the rehearsal rooms and bringing tea to all the dancers, and from there I went up. I never told anybody who my dad was. I kept that out,” he recalled.
While promoting his upcoming film Masti 4, Oberoi reflected on his early struggles as well as the camaraderie he shares with his co-stars. He recalled a light-hearted incident from the sets of the first Masti film in 2004 involving Aftab Shivdasani.
As Oberoi recounted during the interaction, Shivdasani had recently purchased a new luxury car at the time, and the team decided to play a harmless prank. Oberoi and others secretly took the vehicle’s keys, shifted the car a couple of lanes away from its original parking spot, and then quietly placed the keys back near Shivdasani. When the actor came out and could not locate his prized possession, he was left momentarily stunned and anxious. Only after a few tense moments did they reveal the joke, prompting Shivdasani to warn them against repeating such tricks with his belongings. Oberoi shared this memory with amusement as he spoke about the bond the cast still shares.
Mastiii 4, directed by Milap Zaveri, features an extensive ensemble including Ruhii Singh, Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, Shaad Randhawa, Nishant Singh Malkani, and Natalia Janoszek. The film is slated for a theatrical release on November 21, 2025.Promotional footage hints at a chaotic comedy filled with exaggerated scenarios, slapstick confusion, and deliberately over-the-top humour. The movie embraces the spirit of classic Bollywood farce, prioritising energetic pacing, group antics, and unrestrained fun. The Masti series, which debuted in 2004 with strong box-office returns, continued with Grand Masti in 2013, achieving similar commercial appeal. However, the third chapter, Great Grand Masti released in 2016, struggled after an online leak impacted its performance.
