Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui is finding form at international level.

Noussair Mazraoui instantly looked like a bargain when Manchester United bought him from Bayern Munich in 2024.

Mazraoui kept a clean sheet on a winning debut, and despite a rocky season for Manchester United, he was a consistent high performer.

The Moroccan made 57 appearances in all competitions for United, while playing in five different positions, even attacking midfield.

But there was one area Mazraoui could and can improve – his attacking production.

Noussair Mazraoui has provided two assists for Manchester United since joining the club, both of which came in 2024.

The first came when he set up a goal for Amad against Brighton in just his second game for United, and the other was against Bodo/Glimt in November 2024.

Mazraoui’s assist for Rasmus Hojlund in the 3-2 win was almost a full year ago. He has not managed another for the club since.

Now for Morocco on international duty, Noussair Mazraoui is at least beginning to unlock his creative side.

In his first 31 appearances for his country, Mazraoui failed to provide a single assist.

But in the last three games, Mazraoui has managed two assists.

The most recent saw him set up a winning goal for teammate Azzedine Ounahi in a 1-0 win over Mozambique.

This little streak of attacking production can only benefit Mazraoui’s confidence when he returns to Manchester United after the international break.

Mazraoui will be looking to carry on his form when Morocco host Uganda on Tuesday 18.

The main priority for Noussair Mazraoui has been getting back onto the pitch. He missed a month of action in October due to injury.

Mazraoui started for United against Tottenham, his first start for the club since the 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford in late October.

Under Ruben Amorim, Mazraoui has often played as part of a back-three, which has reduced his opportunity to get forward and join the attack.

But as he is continuing to get a renewed taste for creating goals on international duty, it would be nice for Mazraoui to soon reset the near 12-month counter since his last assist in a Manchester United shirt.
