Danielle Collins is still on a quest to “find a husband”, and she’s now got some fellow tennis players doing that work on her behalf. The former world No. 7 recently joined a dating app after splitting up with Bryan Kipp, whom she initially met in a London coffee shop while competing at Wimbledon. She’s also shared her wish to appear on reality dating show, The Bachelorette.

While Collins has yet to appear on The Bachelorette, she’s arguably got the next best thing. Retired tennis stars John Isner, Sam Querrey, Steve Johnson, and Jack Sock – hosts of the Nothing Major podcast – are using their platform to take public applications from those who want to date former Miami Open champion Collins.

The Americans came up with the idea without consulting Collins, but she’s fully on board. In last week’s episode of Nothing Major, Querrey – who himself went on reality dating show Millionaire Matchmaker 10 years ago – said: “Danielle Collins, she’s looking for a serious, significant other. Serious boyfriend.

“She doesn’t know we’re doing this. She might not even like this, but we are taking applicants for her on the pod. Then if we feel like we get four of five food ones, I will then reach out to her and try to bring her on the show and be like, ‘Look, we’ve pre-screened a bunch of guys. We feel like we have four good ones for you. Let us know what you think’.”

Collins’ expectations are high – as are the expectations of the guys on Nothing Major. Querrey added: “We want your resume. But we need name, age, job, a description of yourself. And again, this is Collins. We want the Winkevosses coming through. We want good quality men. We want some Kennedeys.

“And then we bring you both on the pod, we can do a little virtual meet, with us moderating. Again, nice photo. Send your applications or your little description to Nothing Major, a couple photos. Strong applicants though, you know if you’re strong or not. This is for Danielle Collins.”

When the latest episode of Nothing Major was released earlier this week, Collins had yet to reach out to her old colleagues about their quest to find her a husband. Querrey and co launched an application form on their website, and he told listeners: “You fill it out if you would like to possibly have the chance at being Danielle Collins’ boyfriend, maybe husband, if things work out.”

But it’s finally caught her attention – and the world No. 64 is completely on board. She commented on an Instagram clip saying “Bahahaha” and has taken to her stories to share the podcast’s application form.

The requirements are strict, the form says applicants must be: “Financially stable enough to look for love and not a loan; taller than Diego Schwartzman; aware she can likely bench more than you.”

Collins added: “Absolutely epic. Being my boo isn’t for someone that’s weak… or broke.” Neither the Nothing Major hosts nor Collins has given an update on the applicants. But the former Australian Open runner-up could well find herself on a dating show after all.
