Gotti actor Spencer Lofranco has died at 33

Lofranco’s brother Santino shared the news of his sibling’s death on Instagram on Thursday, Nov. 20

Lofranco made his acting debut in 2013’s At Middleton and appeared in seven movies, including Gotti, between 2013 and 2018

Spencer Lofranco, an actor best known for his role opposite John Travolta in the 2018 movie Gotti, has died. He was 33.

Lofranco’s brother, Santino, shared the news of Spencer’s death on Instagram on Thursday, Nov. 20 and indicated that his sibling died on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

“To the legend @roccowinning. My brother. You lived a life only some could dream of,” Santino wrote in a caption to the post, alongside a number of photos of Spencer as a child and in recent years. “You changed people lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025.”

TMZ reported on Nov. 20, Spencer’s death is being investigated in British Columbia, Canada. The Toronto native was credited with roles in seven movies made between 2013 and 2018. These include Angelina Jolie‘s 2014 war film Unbroken and 2018’s Gotti, in which he portrayed John Travolta‘s onscreen son in a biographical movie about New York City-based mob boss John Gotti.

In a 2014 interview with Interview magazine, Spencer said he decided to start acting at age 17, though his father wished for him to become a hockey player or a lawyer instead. He studied acting at the New York Film Academy for a year before landing a role in 2014’s Jamesy Boy. 2013’s At Middleton was his first onscreen credit. His other movies included 2015’s Dixieland and Home, as well as 2016’s King Cobra.

“Growing up, Angelina Jolie was my dream girl. Now I’m going to shoot a movie with her,” Spencer told Interview magazine in a 2014 interview, just as he began shooting Jolie’s Unforgiven. “It’s crazy. I tell people and they’re like, ‘Yeah… okay.’ They don’t even believe me.”

In his final post to his Instagram page, Spencer wrote, “The best is yet to come.”
