Racing fans with sizable bank accounts can potentially own an original Gen 7 car, which competed in the 2022 Daytona 500.

Racecarsdirect.com posted a listing for the No. 27 Ford Mustang, which Team Hezeberg fielded during select races. This event included the 2022 Daytona 500 as Jacques Villeneuve qualified for the crown jewel race and delivered a 22nd-place finish. The car is now out of date considering that Ford has moved to the Dark Horse Mustang.

The listing notes that the price is $295,000. The car includes a Roush-built 350 V8 capable of producing 920 horsepower. It has an electronic fuel injection system and the five-speed sequential transmission.

The Gen 7 car also includes a “NASCAR-spec wiring harness,” NASCAR-DALLARA spec tubular steel chassis, adjustable sway bars, a fire suppression system, a HANS-compatible racing seat, and 18-inch wheels with Goodyear racing slicks.

According to the listing, this car underwent an overhaul after Team Hezeberg last competed in the Cup Series. The car has zero race hours. One interesting detail in the description is that the car apparently cost $650,000 to build. Villeneuve earned $425,000 for his finish in the Daytona 500.

“NASCAR’s 2025 rule changes prohibiting free practice and private testing limited competition against multi-million-dollar teams,” the listing states. “However, this car’s Daytona performance and road course-ready setup highlight its potential. It is in 100% running order.”

The listing for the race car notes that it is currently configured for road courses. This is understandable considering that Team Hezeberg fielded the No. 27 in six Cup Series races in 2022. The Daytona 500 was the only superspeedway on the limited schedule.

Loris Hezemans drove the entry at Circuit of the Americas, Watkins Glen International, the Charlotte Roval, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, and Road America.

As a refresher, Team Hezeberg was an organization that debuted during the 2022 season with the goal of competing regularly at NASCAR’s top level. It was the creation of former racing driver Toine Hezemans and Dutch entrepreneur Ernst Berg. Reaume Brothers Racing also joined as partners to build the Next Gen cars for the team.

When the team originally unveiled its plans to compete in NASCAR, it noted that Loris Hezemans, the NASCAR Euro champion, would run all of the road course races in 2022 as the team sought approval to compete on ovals in 2023. Villeneuve then ultimately made the team’s debut in the series when he competed in the Daytona 500.
